Known Motherhood is a small, therapist-led online support group for Christian mothers navigating the emotional realities of postpartum — designed to complement, not replace, therapy.
The group is currently closed, with the next cohort opening soon. Join the list below to receive reflections on postpartum mental health — and be the first to know when Known Motherhood opens.
Led by Emma Donaldson, LPC, PMH-C
As a therapist and as a mom myself, I know just how hard postpartum can be. It is one of the most vulnerable and least understood seasons of a woman’s life.
Known Motherhood was created to offer support outside the therapy room.
You don’t have to walk this part of your motherhood journey alone. And you are not the only one who is having a hard time. I consider it a privilege to lead this group and help create space for you to be met with compassion and understand.
What makes Known Motherhood different.
This is not a content-heavy program or a casual mom group. It is a carefully held space designed to support you through the emotional, spiritual, and relational realities of postpartum. It offers live and on-demand support through group calls, weekly reflections, and a growing library of mental health resources.
The group is structured to offer steady, ongoing support rather than quick fixes or surface-level encouragement. It sits between individual therapy and navigating postpartum alone, providing clinically informed guidance within a relational, consistent group setting.
What does it look like to be a part of Known Motherhood?
-
After joining, new members get access to the weekly reflections and digital library.
New members are offered a Welcome + Receiving call before joining the live group calls.
Live, therapist-facilitated group calls are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at 10:00am EST.
The reflections, digital library and group calls all exist on the same platform that can be used on your desktop or an app on your phone making it easy and seamless to access. -
Each live call is designed to be supportive, not rushed, and realistic for postpartum life.
Calls are therapist-led and typically include:
• space to settle and arrive
• opportunities for members to share their experience
• clinically grounded mental health tools you can use in real moments when things feel hard
• reflection that gently anchors emotional experiences in the unchanging character of God
Sharing is always optional. There is no pressure to perform or say the right thing. Listening is a valid way to participate.
To protect confidentiality and privacy of group members, calls will not be recorded.
-
Known Motherhood is a month-to-month membership of $97.
*This group is not therapy and not crisis support.
Membership includes:
• access to the guided online support group space
• two live therapist-led group calls each month
• practical, clinically grounded mental health tools
• support that integrates faith thoughtfully and carefully — not as an add-on, but woven into the care itself
-
Therapy is meant to diagnose and treat. While this is essential for many postpartum women, they often still need support in between sessions.
A support group is meant to support integration — helping mothers apply insight, build connection, and feel less alone in daily life.” -
You do not have to be in therapy to join.
Some women will choose to be in this group alongside their individual therapy. Some will have graduated therapy and use the group is their next step. And some women will not be in therapy at all. -
There is no required minimum commitment. That said, it takes time to settle in, build trust, and feel truly known so staying for around three months may allow the space to feel most supportive.
